I need to remove two blank pages from a PDF before submitting it, but I can’t install anything on my work laptop. Can I do this without extra software?

That is annoying, especially on a locked-down work laptop. You can use a browser-based PDF editor to upload the file, delete the blank page thumbnails, then download the revised copy, with no installation needed. Just check your workplace rules first if the PDF contains confidential information.

Had the same issue last month with some field reports. I opened the PDF in Microsoft Edge, hit print, then chose only the pages I wanted and printed to PDF. That dropped the blanks without installing anything. Might work if your laptop has Edge or Chrome, not sure about other browsers.

@noobPhantom07 That Edge trick saved me at the library too when a patron needed blank pages gone from a benefits form. One tip: double check the page range befor you hit print, I once dropped the wrong page and had to redo the whole thing. One thing to avoid: print to PDF flattens fillable fields, so skip it if someone still needs to type in the form.

if you’re on a mac, preview can do this. just open the pdf, go to view \> thumbnails, select the blank pages, and hit delete. if you have microsoft word, you can open the pdf there, delete the pages, and save it back as a pdf. both work without installing anything new.

I’ve done this on a locked-down machine by using the print dialog: choose Print, set the page range to skip the blanks, and send it to Microsoft Print to PDF (or Save as PDF on a Mac). It creates a new copy with only the pages you picked. Just check your work laptop allows that printer.

You can just open it in your web browser, hit print, and save it as a new PDF with only the pages you want. If that is a bit of a faff, I use [pdfcap.com](http://pdfcap.com) for my site contracts. It runs online so you don’t have to install a thing, and you just click to delete the blanks. Are you using Windows or Mac?

Yeah, just use a browser based tool, no install needed. AltoSignPDF has a delete pages option online, works fine on a locked down work laptop too.

Keep a backup of the original before you save over it, learned that one the hard way.

@noobPhantom07 That Edge route is my go too for grant reports, I do it a few times a month. One thing I learned the hard way: the page numbers in the print preview sometimes differ from the ones on the page, so I scroll through before saving. Also watch out, it flattens fillable fields if the form still needs typing into.

Open the file in Chrome or Edge, hit Print, and change the destination to ‘Save as PDF’. Then just set the page range to only the pages you want to keep. Saves a clean copy without the blanks, no install needed.

[shy\_pal](https://altosignpdf.com/community/u/shy_pal/9) The Word trick is worth a warning: it sometimes shifts formatting or fonts when saving back to PDF, so compare the output before you submit. I lean on Preview on my old laptop for exactly this and it never mangles anything. For a Windows work box, the browser print to PDF route is probably the safer bet.
