Every single time I download a PDF on my laptop it immediately launches in a new window, which is driving me crazy. Where do I change the settings so it just saves to my folder?

That is properly annoying. Check your browser’s download settings first, as Chrome and Edge can be set to open certain file types automatically after download. In the downloads list, find a PDF and turn off “Always open files of this type”, then make sure your default PDF app isn’t being launched by the browser.

Had the same thing last month with our field reports. I went into my browser settings and looked for PDF or downloads, then chose to just save the file instead of opening it. There is usually a checkbox on the download itself that says always open this type, I unchecked that. If that does not work I would check what program is set as default for PDFs.

That happens in your browser, not the PDF itself. In Chrome or Edge, go to Settings, then Downloads, and turn off “always open files of this type” if it’s on. In Firefox it’s Settings, General, then Applications. I had the same annoyance and that fixed it for me.
