I keep my PDF files for work on my laptop, but I also need to open and annotate them on my phone and a tablet. Is there a way to have them stay up to date on all my devices automatically, without emailing myself copies every time?
That gets annoying fast, especially once there are a few marked-up versions floating about. Put the working folder in a cloud service such as OneDrive, Google Drive or Dropbox, then use the same account on each device and open the file from that folder. Let each app finish syncing before editing elsewhere, as simultaneous edits can create a duplicate copy.
Had the same headache last month with drawings I needed on site. I put the PDFs in OneDrive on my work laptop and the OneDrive app on my phone and tablet keeps them in sync. When I mark something up on the tablet it usually shows on the laptop after a short wait. If that doesn’t fit your setup I would try Google Drive the same way.
I keep my notary PDFs in one Google Drive folder on the laptop, then put the Drive app on my phone and tablet. Annotate on any of them and it syncs to the others within a minute or 2. Just make sure you’re online when you finish so it actually uploads.
