I’m considering pdfsfcloud for client PDFs, but some contain signed contracts. Has anyone found a review that covers how uploaded files are stored and whether they’re actually deleted?
That is worth checking before putting signed contracts anywhere. I haven’t used pdfsfcloud myself, so I’d look for its privacy policy, retention period and whether deletion also covers backups, then ask support for that in writing. For my tutoring sheets, I keep anything identifiable in a local encrypted folder unless the service clearly explains storage and deletion.
@someone73063 Good call on asking support in writing, I learned the hard way that chat answers don’t count for much later. At the library I tell patrons to check if deletion includes backups too, since a lot of services quietly keep copies for weeks. One thing to avoid is uploading client contracts to any tool before their policy answers that clearly.
i haven’t read a detailed pdfsfcloud review, so i can’t vouch for how it handles files. for signed contracts, i’d check the privacy and retention terms first, then ask support where uploads are stored, whether staff can access them, and whether deleting a file also removes backups. if the answers are vague, i’d wait before uploading anything sensitive.
Had the same thing last month with some signed field reports. I looked around but never found a pdfsfcloud review that explained storage or if files get deleted after. Not sure myself so I would just email their support and ask before putting client contracts up. We keep the originals on our own drive until we trust a new tool.
I get a bit nervous uploading signed contracts to random cloud sites. In my contracting work, I deal with sensitive change orders and prefer to play it safe. I just use PDFcap for all my client documents since it handles things securely without leaving files floating around online. Are you doing this on a mobile phone or a desktop?
I haven’t come across a review of pdfsfcloud that gets into storage or deletion. For signed contracts, I keep the originals on my own computer and only upload through a portal that publishes a retention policy. I’d ask their support for written deletion details before sending anything.
I never used that one, so can’t say about their storage setup.
For signed contracts I’d keep a local backup first, then check if they have a written data retention policy before uploading anything.
Had the same worry last month with signed grant agreements. @hunter99 the local backup first is the step people skip, and I learned that the hard way after losing a whole folder. I also email support asking to confirm the retention window and whether deletion covers backups, then save that reply next to the file. If the answer comes back vague, I keep it on our own drive.
Haven’t seen any reliable reviews covering their retention setup. Tbh, with signed client contracts, I wouldn’t upload anything unless their terms explicitly guarantee immediate deletion from their servers after processing.
@nicholasb23 Agreed, the reviews I found all skipped retention details too. I asked a similar service once and got “we delete promptly” back, which tells you nothing about backups. If they won’t confirm in writing that deletion covers the whole retention chain, I keep signed contracts local. My old laptop handles that just fine.
