I have a long PDF and only need to keep one page for a class handout, but I’m on a work laptop where I can’t install anything. How do I save just that page?
That is annoying on a locked-down work laptop. Open the PDF in Chrome or Edge, press Ctrl+P, choose “Save as PDF”, then enter the one page number under Pages or Custom. Save the new file somewhere you can find it, and it should contain only that page. I do this quite often for tutoring sheets on my old laptop.
Had the same thing last month with a long site report. I opened the PDF in my browser, hit print, picked Save as PDF, and set it to only that page number. It made a new one-page file without installing anything. That works on most work laptops that already have Chrome or Edge.
I do this on my grandkids’ locked down school laptop. Open the PDF in Edge or Chrome, hit print, and choose Save as PDF as the printer. Then under Pages type just the one page number you want, like 3, and save it. Nothing gets installed.
You can actually do this right in your browser since you cannot install programmes on that laptop. Open the file in Edge or Chrome, click print, choose ‘Save as PDF’ as the printer, and just type in the page number. The absolute easiest way though is using pdfcap.com which is what I use for my site contracts. What browser are you using?
