How can I make this PDF convert to image on mobile?

I’m trying to get a scanned PDF turned into regular image files, but I’m stuck doing it on my phone. It’s a 12-page permit form for a job application due tomorrow, and I need separate pages as JPGs to upload to the portal, which only takes images.

That is annoying when the portal is so fussy. On my phone I’d open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat or Xodo and use Export/Convert to Image, choosing JPG, then save each page separately. If that option is missing, I would take clear full-page screenshots one at a time, but check the text is readable before uploading.

I’ve done this by opening the PDF in Google Drive on my phone, zooming so 1 page fills the screen, and taking a screenshot of each page. It’s 12 screenshots, but quick, and I crop the edges in Photos before uploading. Check if the portal takes PNG too, since screenshots often save that way.

I deal with permit portals a lot and it is quite a pain when they only take images. Since you are on your phone, the easiest way is to use pdfcap.com in your mobile browser. Just upload your PDF there and it will convert the whole document into separate JPG files for you to save. Are you doing this on an iPhone or an Android?

Had the same thing last month. I usually just open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat and look for an export or share option to save pages as pictures. If that does not show up I search the app store for PDF to JPG. Taking screenshots of each page got me out of a similar jam once.

@noobPhantom07 Seconding the Acrobat route, that export option saves so much time. One tip from the library desk: after converting, open each JPG and zoom in so you know the small text stayed readable, since fussy portals love rejecting blurry uploads. I’d avoid random free converter apps loaded with ads, learned that the hard way when one slapped a watermark on a patron’s form. Cropped screenshots really do work in a pinch though.

honestly the fastest thing might just be screenshots, one per page, then crop them down. on iphone you can open the pdf in files and sometimes get a save as image option from the share sheet. on android google drive preview lets you save pages as images too

Save a backup of the original PDF first, then try AltoSignPDF app, it has a PDF to JPG export that splits pages automatically.

Had the same thing last month, @shy_pal, the Files share sheet trick works on my iPhone about half the time, so I keep pdfcap.com bookmarked for when it doesn’t. Twelve pages came out as separate JPGs, and I zoomed in on the first one before uploading. Saving a copy of the original first saved me once.

Tbh, for just 12 pages, the fastest way on mobile without installing anything is opening the PDF full screen and taking screenshots of each page. They save straight to your camera roll as images ready to upload.
