I got two versions of the same contract as PDF files and need to spot what changed between them, but I’m only on my Android phone right now. Is there any way to check the differences without a laptop?
That’s annoying when you’re away from a proper screen. On Android, I usually open both PDFs in split-screen and compare page by page, zooming in on clauses and dates. For a longer contract, upload them to a PDF comparison tool in your browser, then review its highlighted changes carefully, especially if the files contain signatures or sensitive details.
Had the same thing last month with two versions of a change order. I am not sure of a phone app that will mark all the changes for you. I opened both PDFs using the split screen feature on Android and compared them page by page. It took a while but it got the job done until I could use a laptop.
I do it the clumsy way. I open both PDFs in whatever viewer came with the phone, use split screen if the phone allows it, and scroll to the same page on each. For a shorter contract I screenshot the pages from one version and flip through them in my gallery while reading the other.
I deal with contract updates on site a lot, and checking them on a small screen is a real pain. I usually just go to pdfcap.com in my mobile browser to compare them. You upload both versions and it highlights the text that got changed or removed. Did you manage to get it sorted out yet?
